One of the first distilleries established in Scotland, Macallan is known for their exceptional sherry treasures. Their range of whiskies are of high quality and great depth. The emphasis on cask quality means only the finest European and American Oak casks get to hold the liquid of the single malt. Macallan’s latest release the Edition 6 takes inspiration from the River Spey (we’ll find out what that means) and is the final of the ‘Edition’ range. The Macallan Ruby and 18yr Sherry Oak expressions are exclusively aged in Spanish Jerez sherry casks and have been standouts since their initial release.

Highland Park boasts of its Viking Heritage, they embody the proud, adventurous, and fiercely independent spirit of the Viking heritage within their drops. Their whisky is well-balanced, offering a wide spectrum of flavour; honey, fruitcake, winter spices and their iconic peat smoke. The Highland Park 18yr recently won Gold at last years International Spirits Challenge and has been wowing whisky lovers for years. The Dark 17 Year Old, much like the Macallan Ruby and Sherry Oak, is aged exclusively in sherry casks. It surely makes for an interesting comparison between the distilleries’ sherry expressions.

Brewed in Alexandria, Yulli’s is renowned for their brews named after wacky and distinct characters that fit in with their ‘Beer with Personality’ trademark.
